Baker Book House will soon be publishing a hardcover 4-volume set of Gospel commentaries from the Catholic Commentary on Sacred Scripture (CCSS). The release date is set for December 21st. This will be the first hardcover release of the CCSS, which has only been available in paperback since it was released. I covered my impressions after reading multiple volumes on Paul’s letters earlier this year.
Baker will be offering 30% off of the four-volume hardcover set until January 31, 2022 (or until stock lasts). The discounted price is $87.49. Here is a link to the product page.
Just in time for Christmas!
My paperback volumes are still in pretty good shape (although Matthew is getting a wee bit worn), so I’m furiously trying to come up with some rationale to pick these beauties up.
Sell them on eBay. I’d be interested in buying the paperback editions 🙂
These are wonderful commentaries! They should be widely distributed and widely used, especially in Bible Study groups. However, expensive hardcover editions will not help “widely distributed.” How about reducing the Kindle price, to increase distribution.

I can’t wait for the OT version of these commentaries. It would also be great if maybe one day a 2-volume commentary (one for OT and one for NT) would be done. Then we will be all set as Catholics IMO.
