Mark from Burton Bibles just posted a video review of the new Cambridge NRSVue Diadem Reference Bible. He shows the green calfskin edition (without the deuterocanonical books), and he compares it to the ESV Diadem and the CSB Diadem editions:
A couple of interesting points which I noticed from the video:
- This is a black letter edition (the words of Christ are in black) unlike the ESV Diadem.
- The concordance at the back of the Bible includes citations to the deuterocanonical books.
I’ve also confirmed that Cambridge is still planning to publish hardcover editions of the NRSVue Diadem, but they are being printed separately and will be available at a later date.
A concordance with the deuterocanonical books is a treat for sure. Those hardcover listings for the NRSV Didadem he showed caught my attention since I’ve seen no indication of those anywhere else.
My copy just arrived (split calf leather edition with Apocrypha) but several hundred pages are warped. Back to Cambridge. I had problems with their Popular Text edition of the NRSVUE and they refunded the cost. I ordered the hardback instead and that was in perfect condition. Quality control at Cambridge seems to have deteriorated.
This is nice! I’ve decided to use the NRSV-CE as my “Bible for the year.” I plan on using it until the CAB is released. Though my copy hasn’t arrived, yet, I ordered the Eucalyptus Hardcover edition from Catholic Bible Press
