The price for the Alpha Cowhide (imitation leather) edition of the Great Adventure Bible will be increasing by $5 to $64.95 starting on August 1st. Ascension Press sent out a courtesy email to inform customers of the price increase. Any orders on the Ascension website during July will be honored at the old price of $59.95.
With the rising cost of everything, (thanks Joe), I won’t be buying any Bible, especially at these prices.
Can someone explain to me how a name like Alpha Cowhide means it is an imitation leather? Or is this just an industry-accepted term that sounds misleading but is not if you happen to be part of the “in the know” crowd? It just sounds like “click-bait” honestly.
From what I understand, Alpha Cowhide is the trade name of an imitation leather product from Ecological Fibers, inc. Here’s a link to their product page:

It definitely seems misleading, because the name makes it sound like real leather instead of imitation.
