The USCCB will soon be publishing Lectio Divina of the Gospels for the liturgical year 2018-2019 (beginning with the first Sunday of Advent in 2018). It will feature aids to guide readers through the four stages of Lectio Divina (the ancient process of praying with Scripture – here’s a link to a short introduction) for each Sunday gospel throughout the upcoming liturgical year. Gospels for major feasts are also included. I can’t tell from the USCCB’s information whether this will include any feasts that are not holy days of obligation.
According to the USCCB: “A unique guide is offered for each gospel reading to help the reader explore the sacred texts with greater attention and allow the Word to permeate their mind and imagination more deeply. Each week’s lectio divina includes a dedicated page for writing out reflections, thoughts, and prayers.”
The book is available for pre-order now at the USCCB website. It is expected to be in stock on October 15th.
